Recipes Baked Pork Chops

I only make pork chops one way anymore, slow-baked. After spending hours simmering in their own juices, the pork chops simply fall apart. Every morsel is filled with the flavor of onion soup mix. That is right, onion soup mix and pork chops. Even the fussy members of my family find them irresistible.

Ingredients:
1 box powdered Onion Soup mix
1 Family Pack of Pork Chops – The cut does not matter here. Cooking time and results are the same.

Sprinkle the bottom of a 9 x 13-glass cake pan with the onion soup mix and place a layer of chops on top. Continue by layering soup mix and chops, ending with a topping of the soup mix. Cover the pan with foil and place in a 350-degree oven.

After about an hour, you will be able to smell your pork chops and it will be time to turn the oven down. Without opening the oven door, turn your oven down to 150 degrees. Allow your chops to continue cooking at this low temperature for approximately 3 hours.

If the rest of dinner is not ready yet, they will now keep comfortably on warm for another hour provided you have not uncovered them.

These chops are good alone, with gravy or any sauce you may prefer. Even better, they are great the next day.
